An ultra-modern hanging vase in ivory white porcelain by Matsumura Jun enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 34 cm (13-1/2 inches) long and in perfect condition, directly from the artist.
Matsumura Jun was born in Chiba Prefecture on the outskirts of Tokyo in 1986. He graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2010, and graduated the Tajimi Municipal Ceramics Research Facility in 2015, then went on to the Utatsuyama Research Facility in Kanazawa, leaving there in 2018...

Playable Antique Japanese Buddhist temple hanging lacquered drum. Gold and black lacquer with deer skin hide. Base is secure with four indepenent feet. A round gold gilt flaming archway ascends above the trum. Black lacquer over wood. With hand forged iron nails neatly holding down the tight skin.

This is absolutely rare:

A 16th century Momoyama Period Wa-Nari shaped Kuro Mino Chawan with a rounded brim and a 'wandering' lip, made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in its lower part around the foot ring. A wonderful tong mark is still visible (please see picture number 3).

In the style of Kuro Oribe bowls this bowl was covered with a black glaze...

Japanese Showa period cloisonne enamel vase decorated with two prominent cattleya orchids set against a pale yellow wireless ground. The counter enamel at the interior mouth and base is pale yellow and in the interior of the vase is purplish brown. Chrome rims. No mark but likely produced by the Ando Cloisonne Company. 9 3/4" high x about 6" diameter at the shoulder. Very heavy for its size. Circa 1945-1960s. Very good overall condition.

A very sophisticated Kuro Raku Hira Natsu Chawan made by the IX generation Raku Kichizaemon Ryonyu (9代 楽吉左衛門) made around the beginning of 19th century about 200 years ago during the Edo era.

His seal is engraved beside the foot ring and - rarely seen - also his Kao, written with red lacquer, which underlines the importance of this bowl for the artist...

Antique Japanese hand carved wooden temple carving of a dragon amongst the swirling clouds. Beautifully carved of heavy keyaki (zelkova elm) wood with nice original details. The large dragon clasps the sacred wish-granting pearl in one claw. Around him are billowing rivulets of clouds. Gold and ink detailing can be seen for the eyes.
In Japan, they are thought to be tide gems, which cause the sea to ebb and flood, and are one of the primary treasures of Ryujin’s palace...
