Tibetan antique altar table carved with ornate designs. The front legs are carved in the form of of makara and above them are Kirtimukha heads. All around are swirling clouds and scrolling vines. The creatures are decorated with raised pigment, creating a scaled appearance.

A delicately cast fire gilt image of the Four-armed Avalokitesvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig; Chinese: Sibi Guanyin), the Bodhisattva who embody the Universal Compassion. seated in Dyana-asana on a lotus flower, with Amitabha head on top of the chignon, the upper hands holding a prayer beads and a lotus; the lower ones in worshiping Mudra ( Anjiali Mudra). Unsealed. Eastern Tibet, 17th cent. H 13 cm. Condition: very good, but with some rubbing to gilding, eyes and lips with rest of colours .

This is an extremely rare Bhutanese devotional textile with appliqued symbols and a central "Yin-Yang" medallion within an eight-armed wheel of the law. The piece is in outstanding condition, measuring 47" X 29", not including the fringe. Backed with a patterned trade textile. The piece dates to no later than the first quarter of the 20th century. In over 50 years of collecting, this is only the second one of its type that I have seen on the market. A rare opportunity.

Very rare amulet made from a wild boar tooth, animal hair tainted in red and ropes. Northern India, Naga Peoples, early 20th century. Total height: 26 cm. Good condition despite obvious signs of age.

Nepalese antique bronze bracelet with tiny raised deities. The figures are applied upright or laying flat on the surface and surrounded by decorative granulation. Age and handling have worn the likenesses and developed a warm patina.

Tibetan antique Buddhist conch shell trumpet (sankha). The shell is wrapped in silver which has an intricate repoussé design of scrolling vines and auspicious objects. It is inset with small cabochons of coral, turquoise and lapis. The conch shell itself is considered auspicious. It represents the deep, melodious sound of the Buddha's voice which wakes up disciples "from the slumber of ignorance".

Himalayan altar dedicated to Buddha, with an elaborate arch with two pillars resting on two lions. The Buddha himself is represented standing on a lotus, in "varada mudra", and is surmounted by a small Amithaba Buddha above his head. Bronze, with fine age patina. Nepal, early 19th century. Finely cast statue, with nice details, of Sadaksari Lokeshvara 'also knwon as Kharchheri, the "Lord of the Six Syllables" belonging to the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum". Sadaksari is sitting on a lotus throne, and has four arms. In one hand he holds the "akshamala", which serves to count the number of times the mantra is spoken. In the other hand he holds the lotus of absolute purity. Furthermore, he holds the magic jewel Cintamani in front of his chest...

A very fine and extremely rare, stone-carved image of Vajrapani (Acala) in sexual union (yab-yum) with his consort. The deity has curling snakes around his ankles. Remains of colors.The brownish stone, probably a type of soapstone, has been partly polished. Tibet, 17–18th cent. H 13.2 cm. Condition: Very good all-over with a few minor chips. No re-stuck parts or repairs.
