Antique original Tibetan traveling inscribed metal brush case. Inscribed by hand of floral garden landscape mixed with scholar like objects. Original patina consistent with age. Two loops, one on the lid and the other od the long cylindrical side, provide a place to secure and tie in place. The top and bottom are flare out and brought to a point.

Gilded copper censer. Tibet 19th century or before. Small jar,perhaps a censer, in embossed copper applied with bronze motifs in relief, held by rivets. The base part is decorated with a band of palms and the upper part with Swastika. These two bands are cold gilded with gold powder which is firmly held probably by lacquer. The patina is excellent and guarantees a very old piece. Probably Tibet, 19th century or before...

You are considering a pair of Jain manuscript paintings on paper excerpted from a larger text. The paintings likely date to the 15th century, consistent with most similar examples. As can be seen, these paintings have been removed from the accompanying text. They are both in exceptional condition, with only one tiny "nick" in the upper margin of one of the paintings...

This is a very detailed, exceptionally well-carved wooden statue depicting Vishnu standing beneath five hooded cobras. Most likely a votive offering or from a personal Vaishnava shrine. The piece measures 5-1/2" in height and 2" in width. The detail on this relatively small statue is exceedingly well-done, as the photos will, hopefully, demonstrate. Pieces of this quality are uncommon.

This is a deeply carved three-dimensional carving from the early to mid-19th century depicting Bhairava, the wrathful form of Shiva. The piece most likely formed part of a processional chariot which would have carried a statue of Shiva. The piece measures 15" X 7" and is over 3" in depth. This is a powerfully dramatic sculpture with a rarely encountered subject. Minor losses to one hand, consistent with its age and ritual use.

An extremely rare tool for grating precious stones (serdar) such as coral, turquoise, lapis lazuli and shell. Made of iron, gold and silver. The serdar (together with a special file) is used for powdering various precious stones and minerals to be mixed with the clay for making votive amulets in clay (tsatsa). 18th cent. L 14 cm. Gilt bronze five prong vajra (or dorje), resting on a lotus stand also made of gilt bronze. Intricate details on the vajra, especially the "makara" heads from which four prongs are protruding, but also around the center part.
