Important Tibetan caldle holder made of silver, with embossed decoration showing elaborate and numerous details, among which are the eight Buddhist symbols inserted in frames around the cup, and stylised lotus along the stem. A rare Tibetan Ritual Dance 'Cloud Collar’ Silk Brocade, made from Ming dynasty silk brocade. This collar would be worn by monk / dancer as part of the elaborate and rich attire during special Buddhist ritual performances like the Cham dance. Size: 88 x 88 cm circa . Tibet, 17 - 18th cent. Condition: generally quite good but of course has been used for very long time and has some stains and a couple of tears.

A small, but rare non-gilt, bronze image depicting one of the twenty-one forms of Taras, probably number fifteen. The Tara is a female Bodhisattva, an esoteric Deity, an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, she is seated in the usual manner with the right foot extending over the base. The right hand holds a vase (kalasha) and the left hand holds the lotus. Tibet, 16th cent. H 8 cm. Condition: Rubbed due to age and handling. Original closing.

This is a rare tantric item, most likely used ceremonially, depicting a finely painted Mahakala astride a bull, surrounded by flames. The reverse has three lines of Tibetan script (untranslated) and what appears to be an old collection label. The piece is painted on bone (a scapula?) and shows a very old patina. A rare and early coppery bronze image of the Dhyani Buddha Amoghasiddhi one of the five Tathagata of the Vajrayana tradition. Charming votive folk embroidery, from the Saurashtra area of Gujarat, made by the Kanbi farmers caste, circa 50/60 years old. The two ply field is woven from all hand spun rough cotton thread; hand dyed silk thread and small glass mirrors. Ganesh is flanked by two female consorts and his “vehicle” of mice beneath him.
