An interesting and stylistically unusual, gilt bronze image of the bodhisattva Vajradhara sitting in Dyana-asana with hands in vajrahuṃkara-mudra, holding bell and vajra crossed in front of his chest. He wears a broad crown on his head with flanging tassels. High lotus seat with large, flat, double petals. Tone of gilding very fine. Eastern Tibet, 17th cent. Sealed. H 17 cm. Condition: Very good. Hole in top of hair knot and some rubbing to gold.

A miniature shrine from South India made in three parts. Composed of the small deity, the throne and the aureole, finely cast in bronze with dark patina. Showing the dancing god Krishna as a child holding in one hand a butter ball. Condition: patina, traces of usage and worshipping, rubbed, the pedestal of the figure (see photo no. 5) and maybe the aureole with small loss (near the naga). Dimension: total: 15.6 cm high.

This is an extremely rare Bhutanese devotional textile with appliqued symbols and a central "Yin-Yang" medallion within an eight-armed wheel of the law. The piece is in outstanding condition, measuring 47" X 29", not including the fringe. Backed with a patterned trade textile. The piece dates to no later than the first quarter of the 20th century. In over 50 years of collecting, this is only the second one of its type that I have seen on the market. A rare opportunity.

Tibetan antique Buddhist conch shell trumpet (sankha). The shell is wrapped in silver which has an intricate repoussé design of scrolling vines and auspicious objects. It is inset with small cabochons of coral, turquoise and lapis. The conch shell itself is considered auspicious. It represents the deep, melodious sound of the Buddha's voice which wakes up disciples "from the slumber of ignorance".
