The basin presents elegantly rounded walls, adorned with two deeply carved bands that encircle the exterior rim. Its interior showcases an intricate pattern inspired by early Islamic and Middle Eastern metalwork...
A pair quadrangular terracotta vases or incense stick holders in the shape of a gu. With molded decoration of flowers, waves and Buddhist symbols covered by a turquoise glaze. Base and rims are unglazed, stands with later annotations. Condition: rims with few old chips, glaze with partial small losse, one rim with short fabrication crack. Dimension: c. 21.3 to 21.6 cm height, weight: c. 1430 g.

Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in. I have added a cosmetic "enhancement" (filled the crack and applied gold leaf).
