This small example of Chinese cloisonné must have originally been part of something larger and is possibly a cover to a vessel of some kind. It dates to the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), more accurately, probably to the 15th or 16th century, and was excavated many years ago from a site in Cambodia from which examples of Ming dynasty porcelain were also excavated. It is in poor condition with the enamels and copper body degraded...

Black enameled copper dish decorated with millefleurs in famille rose tones. Reverse in a "duck egg" sky blue. Beautiful gilding on the rim, probably mercury-gilded, slightly oxidized in places.
