Good Corsican folding “vendetta knife”- “may this wound never heal” is etched on the blade as well as 716 Veritable Edouard stamped. As far as I know this kind of knife was made as souvenirs for French tourists visiting Corsica in the 19th Century, and were really not used for “shanking people”. Antique Veritable Laguiole knife with corkscrew and pipe cleaner/awl. Excellent condition, circa 1st half of the 20th century. They still make these so there are lot of copies out on the market- this is a genuine old one with good natural worn patina the blade is still sharp and serviceable. Scale is in enlargements.

An antique Tibetan temple bell and Vajra both made of bronze. Four prong bronze bell and matching four prong bronze vajra (diamond / thunderbolt). Beautiful design with ritual wear. There is an image of a bodhisattva’s head on the bell handle, a dorje design on outer rim with an embossed relief lotus design on the inner bell. Nice ringing note when sounded.

Age: 19th Century

Bell measures 6 3/4" high by 3 3/4" diameter. Vajra measures 5" long by 1 1/2" in diameter.

Chinese antique bronze jue, a wine vessel for drinking fermented millet beverages in rituals to ancestors. The libation cup is supported by three tapered legs. The wide mouth rim is has two finials on either side and an animal-headed handle on one side. The body of the cup is encircled with three raised bands of archaic leiwen motif. The underside of the cup has a raised, rectangular cartouche with and inscription stating the vessel is from the 3rd year of the Qianlong reign...

This small hammered copper vase is inlaid with silver and different metals in 3 copper alloys, giving respectively tones of yellow, brown and cream, this very particular technique of mixed metals that one never meets on similar objects made in Vietnam at the end of the 19th century, announces a totally different object, moreover the aesthetics and the style of the drawings is not Vietnamese as well as the form, this is a Chinese creation of the 19th century and perhaps earlier...

A good and well cast Chinese bronze incense-burner and hinged cover modelled as a qilin, the head turned towards its back and forming the hinged cover. Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century. Height 28 cms, 11in. Good condition.

A pair Chinese "Imperial" guardian lions, depicted as female with cub and male with embroidered ball under the paw. Inspired by the large protective statues found in the Imperial Forbidden City, dating to the Ming dynasty. Cast bronze with fine chased decoration, the bells are movable. Condition: fine. Dimension: c. 21.2 cm high x 12 cm wide x 14.5 cm deep, weight: c. 6.8 kg.

This early 19th century Qing Dynasty replica of a Shang Dynasty vessel is a bronze-cast "jue", or ritual wine vessel. It is comprised of three tripod-like legs which sustain a bell-shaped bottom, with a spout. Traditionally, a handle is positioned on one side of the body. Atop the handle, one can find a mythical creature that resembles a dragon. Around the outside of the body of the vessel is the ubiquitously inscribed "taotie" mask...

This type of knife is often called fisherman knife although it was used by a wide range of workers and social classes. It opens thanks to a push system with no lock, the steel blade is in decent condition even if a little oxidation was once there, the antler piece is a nice yellow and brownish shade patina. A very curious system is clogged into the blade, probably so one could hang it and carry it around...
