An unusual Chinese bronze vase, Kangxi period, 17th/early 18th century, finely cast in high relief with two dragons and four other mythical animals among waves, with traces of gilding remaining. Xuande four character mark. Height 16cms. Heavily cast - weight 1430g.

The censer has a compressed globular or rounded body, supported by three short feet, with two handles, a style rooted in ancient Chinese ritual vessels. The body is covered with dark patina and decorated with intricate silver inlays of two shishi dogs or lions on both sides amid mountainous landscape and clouds. Signed at the bottom. 4.5 ” x 4.5” (11.5 x 11.5 sm).

Width approximately 13.5 cm (across the handles). In good condition.

Two bronze seals / seal stamps: one possibly Han, the other probably late Qing. The drilled holes to both were probably made in the late 19th century. Measures: diameter "4/5 / 2 cm and "2/5/ 11 x 12 mm respectively. Condition: fine.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty round form bronze or brass alloy mirror with central pierced knob and four relief birthday greeting characters reading 福山壽海 fu shan shou hai (fortune like a mountain, longevity like an ocean). 9 3/4" diameter. This is a reticulated miniature bronze brush pot, likely from the Chinese Qing Dynasty (1644-1912). It is of cylindrical form, featuring reticulated (pierced) sides. The decoration depicts cranes amidst swirling mist and clouds. The rim features a meander-pattern (Greek key) band, and the foot has a border of waves and clouds. 4.25” x 2.75 ” 11 x 6.8 sm

It is 7 inches (17.78 cm) tall measured with handle up and 5.5 inches (19.97 cm) measured with handle down by 8 inches (20.32 cm) in length and 6.25 inches (15.87 cm) wide. It is 1718 gram or 3.8 lb.

It has rubbing of gilt and patina, stains, oxidation, small dents at one corner, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos)...

The statue is likely Japanese but may be of a Chinese origin. It made of bronze and has developed a dark patina, a natural surface change due to age and environmental exposure. The elegant, standing pose with flowing robes is characteristic of bronze figures made towards the end of the Ming dynasty, a period known for its high-quality bronze craftsmanship.
