A perfect set of gilt gold Yacob stone Straits Chinese Peranakan Nyonya kerongsang

An unusual bone handle dagger decorated with a turquoise stone and silver a copper fittings. The sheath is made of silver with a woven silver chain attached to the knife. There is piece of "stingray skin" wrapped around the middle. There is one turquoise stone decorating the sheath with two red (resin) stones that originally were red coral.The blade is made of steel. Antique Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644) Chinese gilt bronze scholar scroll weight in the form of a chimera. The mythical water dragon-like creature semi-coils it's body. Made of cast bronze with original gilt finish. Original finish consistent with age.
Scholar-officials were the elite class of imperial China. They were highly educated, especially in literature and the arts.

Antique Chinese rectangular caligraphy box made from white brass, with built-in inkstone. The interior has old ink patina. The lid is inscribed with auspicious calligraphy and signature. Dates from 19th century.

An unusual round paitong brass ink container with a floral design from the Ming period. Inside there are still remains of old dried out black ink. Signed on the underside, probably the maker. Size: Diameter. 7.8cm. H. 2.8cm. Condition: No repairs some wear from centuries of use.

A lidded brass box, made around 1900, Chinese. Small brass medallions with auspicious flowers and birds have been soldered on to the box, and to the front are two enamel and copper medallions with cranes. One medallion is of the shou symbol surrounded by bats. The wooden lining suggests that the box was used for cigars. The back with stamped mark CHINA. Nice format, width "5 ¼ / 13.3 cm, height "2 / 5 cm. Condition: fine.

Rare and endearing figure of a young boy disciple of Quanyin (the Goddess of Compassion) wearing a garment etched with a lotus flower - the symbol of Buddhism. He is often depicted near Quanyin with his hands in reverential prayer. The bronze is heavily cast and has wires imbedded underneath the pedestal, perhaps for attaching to a group of figures. Antique Chinese bronze mirror. The front is decorated with motifs of birds, squirrels, and grapes in high relief. The largest center squirrel is pierced through for attaching to a silk cord.
