Five porcelain tea cups by Kato Tsubusa enclosed in the original compartmentalized and signed wooden box titled Seihakuji Senchawan outside, and inside Seihakuji Chawan. Each is a unique shape, and they are roughly 9.5 cm (4 inches) diameter, 7 to 8 cm (3 to 3-1/2 inches) tall and all are in excellent condition. Someone has written in red on the box lid

Unusual Japanese two-section choba tansu (merchant's chest), made with Kiri (paulownia) front hardwood, Sugi (cedar) sides, and two large Keyaki (elm) sliding door panels with a roomy, shelved interior space. Each drawer opens with hirute style iron handles and a simple squared lock. Its sides are reinforced with horizontal slats.

Antique Japanese unusual choba tansu (merchant's chest) with original red lacquer finish hardwood. A single long drawers runs along the top, with four small drawers along the righthand side, and two large, hinged doors on the left, with an interior storage area. Simplistic decorative iron plating of round locks, squared (kakute) handles, and scalloped corner hardware decorative the front and frame of the piece.

The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori,” numbered 31/70, and dated ’81 in the lower margin. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The visible paper size is 23”V x 16 3/4”H (frame: 31”H x 24”V). Appears to be in very good overall condition. The print is framed in the original Kanda Gallery frame...
