sold thank you This is an upper child kimono of the Shonai district (Yamagata). It features blue dyeing and beautiful Tutugaki
The Yuzen process of the freehand drawing is beautiful, this is thick cotton spun by hand. And crane and tortoises of the freehand drawing run well too. Lining is cotton dyed with rouge made specially in Yamagata.
There are four stains of approximately 1cm (figure 1). There are two places extremely thin stain (figure 2).
And there is one place of old rectification (figure 3)...

As for it, dark blue and light blue contrast are fair. The cotton spun by hand has good texture. The local custom, the way of thinking affect the motif of Tsutsugaki. 11th generation Raku Kichizaemon Keinyu (1817-1902) White Raku Sake Bottle Tokkuri.
The mark of the potter is stamped at the bottom. Keinyu used this mark after his retirement. The red clay was used which was glazed and fired. It is a rare work that depicts the standing cranes of parents and child. He often used crane decoration in his later years such as Fukurokuju tea bowl exhibited in Kyoto in autumn 2020. The Eiraku family is one of the most important and historically significant family of potters in Japan since 17 century. They belong to a limited number of craftsmen who is allowed to create tea ceremony utensils for three schools of tea ceremony which are Mushakoujisenke, Urasenke and Omotesenke. Size 2.6in. (6.7cm.) high; 6.2in. (15.9cm.) diameter; 340g weight. Remember this vase. It is the only one like it in the world. It is stolen merchandise. The story behind how this vase was taken is terrible and the crud that did it needs to be nailed. The vase is very large for a Yabu piece, standing 12 3/8 inches tall. If it were not stolen Merchandise it would have a value of $50,000-$100,000. It was stolen in 2007 from a Doctor in Argentina and a case has been filed with Interpol. It is registered as stolen along with very descriptive images, Case #10451/05...
