It is based on a legend that is said the Kannon Bodhisattva saved Zen Master Dogen(1200-1253) while he was traveling to China for Zen Buddhism... Bronze vase with a cylindrical shape and brown patina with a relief decoration depicting a carp emerging gracefully from the water, creating a small wave.
Signed Nogawa company under the base.
