A masterpiece by Shigaraki Icon Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shigaraki Shizen-yu Mentori Hanaire. She was well known for both her Mentori works, and the exuberant amount of ash accumulated from the 10 plus day firings of her kiln. This is a prime example of both those features. It is 24.5 cm (just udner 10 inches) diameter, roughly the same height, and in excellent condition.

Japanese antique Bugaku theatre mask for Genjoraku dance. The imperial court dance has been performed for over 12 hundred years. During the Edo Period, the dance was performed as part of shrine festivals to celebrate prosperity and peace. This mask is carved of wood with a moveable jaw. A rare Kuro Raku Chawan by the 7th-generation successor of Raku ware, Kichizaemon Chonyu (1714-1770).

It comes in fine antique condition with a very old red Urushi lacquer Kintsugi and its antique wooden box with an attestation and appraisal of the Urasenke Tea House "Shikien" Kyoto, signed and sealed in 1950.

Born as the eldest son of the 6th generation Sanyu, he took over as the head of the family and didn’t retire until age 49, later passing away at age 57...

This large blossom by Nakazato Hiroko is covered in earthy pastel colors, rising to a voluptuous crescendo of petals. She says:
