Vintage Japanese damascene mix metal cigarette Box, once owned by the Rockefeller collection. Finely decorated with inlaid gold and silver. A pair of peacocks are seen amounts the flowing river underneath blooming tree. Hinged lit fits tightly and securely. Lacquer and overall condition is very good.

This is a molded gray clay brick/tile from the Tang Dynasty, featuring an "Atlas" type Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I encountered a similar figure during my visit to Taxila, the cradle of the Gandharan Civilization, which highlights the Greco-Roman origins of Tang art. A shishi lion bites into a tangle of ribbon on the pierced lid of this pottery koro by Ito Tozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The six sided bosy is decorated with alternating designs of gees and florals among lattice-work. It is 8.5 x 8.5 x 14.5㎝ and in excellent condition.

An oki-goro incense burner made up of a hollowed burl of wood set onto a beautiful exotic dark-wood stand in the manner much appreciated by scholars of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Incense burnt inside on a metal stand would have produced smoke which drifted out through holes in the high peak of the burl, and around the base, like a mountain visible in the mist. It is 17 x 10.5 x 9 cm (7 x 4 x 3-1/2 inches) and is in overall excellent condition.

A Very Fine Beautiful Incised Goyeo(高麗) Celadon Bowl-12th -13th C.: Korea, Goryeo dynasty, 12th/13th century The deep celadon bowl tapering to a short ring foot, simply decorated with lotus large single petals on the exteriors, applied with evenly pale greyish blue celadon glaze over the body, ring foot unglazed. It is in good condition, measures 16.1cm x 8cm.

A Very Fine/Beautiful Korean Blue/White Painted Water Dropper-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The porcelain water dropper formed as a stylized star-shape and decorated with a orchid in center and characters around body and in under glaze blue beneath a warm white glaze.
