Sold, Thank You! A large and powerful composition displaying beads of feldspar strung across a canvas of red ferrous clay. A perfect addition for tea practitioners in need of a good Shino piece or for collectors looking for a classic and exceptional example of this type of pottery.
As the name suggests to anyone familiar with Japanese pottery, Kato Toyohisa (b. 1962) hails from a long line of Mino potters. Awarded the Rising Star prize in 1983 for his first entry in formal competition, he went on to... Chinese Qing dynasty bronze censer with Jia Cang Zhen Bao mark. 21 cm wide. 8,5 cm high. 14,7 mouth diameter. 2323 gram weight. Censer in original patina condition except has small part scratch. From inside you can see small repair from mis cast but hard to see from outside. ( Please see on the pictures ).

$1,200.00 Probably Tibet. Miniature Buddha in cast bronze gilded with the mercury technique. Under the base curiously we can see a Vajra cast in relief. The sculpture is simple rustic, the details are little or not chiseled, however the gilding is of the best quality, very thick and tends to flake.Traces of pigment on hairs and eyes. The style of the base with elephant and Buddhist Lions in front and crosses at the back, makes me think of the 15th century style.
No restaurations.
