Price on Request Antique Japanese six-panel screen painting (byobu) with a design of fans on silver leaf ground. Each fan is an intricate scene of sections carefully salvaged from even older paintings. Fans with battle scenes, peonies, maples, pines, bamboo, waves and more. Painted in mineral colors and gold leaf on paper. The silver leaf of the screen has beautifully oxidized over time.

$900.00 An antique Japanese portable storage box for tea ceremony accoutrements. Made almost entirely of Kuwa (Mulberry) wood, it has a bamboo carrying handles. Lift out door opens to a storage compartment with a removable split level shelf. Four drawers of varying sizes were used to house an assortment of tea ceremony paraphrenalia. All original including the bronze hardware.

Sold A superior Arita Chawan decorated to the exterior with the Shochikubai, plum, pine and bamboo, in kinsai gilding. The interior painted with a dense Karakusa arabesque of auspicious Peony leaves. The foot-rim with stylised overlapping lotus leaves in underglaze blue. To the interior of the foot-ring a four character fukichosun mark. The condition is good, no damages or restoration. A kiln flaw to the foot-ring.
The bowl dates to the Kyoho era circa 1720-30.
It weighs 93 grams in weight...

Just below his ushnisha (nikkei) is a crystal Nikkeishū (Nikkei Jewel), believed to "radiate the light of the world"...
