EUR €1,800 A hexagonal cloisonné vase on a dark blue ground, decorated with a large cherry blossom tree cascading over a garden of irises and chrysanthemums enclosed within a stylized fence.
The decoration continues along the sides and on the reverse with a sinuous stream and wild irises in light enamel.
The neck and base are adorned with ornamental enamel borders featuring geometric motifs.
Period: Meiji, late 19th century
Dimensions: 19 × 7.5 × 9.5 cm

$1,100.00 A very decorative hanging lantern made of cast bronze in the shape of a horned owl, the body is in openwork, the ring for hanging between the horns, inside there is the place for a thin candle so that when lighted create a magic, beautiful, warm effect.
Made in Takaoka, a famous city where bronze casting dates back to beginning of the Edo period, this piece dates from the Meiji period, around 1900.
Measurement: H 29 x 16 x 16 cm.

Sold The netsuke features a kappa head with a long bend beak. It is made from a stag horn, has a deep green patina, double inlayed eyes and inlayed himatoshi.
A kappa (河童, "river-child") is a type of yōkai, or supernatural creature, that inhabits rivers, lakes, and swamps. They are typically depicted as amphibious, human-like beings with a turtle-like shell on their back, webbed hands and feet, and a depression on their head that holds water.
Perfect condition.

It is 6.8 cm (2-1/2 inches) diameter, 5.5 cm (just over 2 inches) tall and in perfect condition.
Nakagawa Jinenbo (1953-2011) was a celebrated Japanese ceramic artist always fascinated with Karatsu ware. He studied under the great Inoue Toya from the age of 24... Slight color graduation registers the rim like sunrise on this small sake cup by Miyashita Zenji enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Saide-Hai. It is 6.6 cm diameter, 3.3 cm (1 inch tall) and in excellent condition.
