VERY RARE Chinese Han Dynasty Walking Pottery "Stick" Figure
This tall and impressive pottery "stick" figure was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8), more specifically, the 2nd century BC. It is "heavily-potted" and made from a dense fine-grained pale grey pottery. It has been "cold painted" in a pink/brown flesh-coloured pigment with red and black pigments to the head and facial features. Ensemble of three blue and white bowls circa 14CE. These are shipwreck recovery pieces that have been cleaned possibly from the Hoi An hoarde. The larger bowl is Annamese, D: 15cm/6in and H: 9cm/3.5, no cracks or chips but the rim glaze has fritted off. The two smaller bowls are a near matched pair- D: 11cm/4.2in and both have rim repairs highlighted in enlargements.
