Chinese Qianlong 18th Century Famille Verte Porcelain Dish

This attractive and colourful porcelain dish was made in the 18th century during the Qianlong reign (1736 - 1795) of the Qing Dynasty. The varied floral decoration comprises dark green, light green, red, pink, yellow and blue enamels as well as some gilding. Around the rim edge is an iron-brown wash to help prevent fritting of the glaze during firing.

Chinese Kangxi Imari Porcelain Dish

This fine-quality porcelain dish with attractive floral pattern in underglaze blue, red enamel and gilding, was made during the Kangxi reign (1662 - 1722) of the Qing Dynasty. Around the rim edge is an iron-brown wash to help prevent fritting of the glaze during firing.

It is in very good condition. There is no restoration or repair and just one tiny "fleabite" to the rim edge...

The Imari style was invented in Arita, Japan, during the second half of the 17th century. Ming jar with blue underglaze chrysanthemum pattern in good condition, there are some glaze blemishes from firing noted in 2nd enlargement. Very nice shape. This was fired in Guangdong Province - locally, this type is referred to as a “gunpowder” jar although, I don’t know if this was it what it was really used for. H: 15cm/5.9in and D: 18.5cm/7.2in.
