A Chinese Soft-Paste Porcelain Snuff Bottle, Kangxi Mark, 19th Century.

The egg ~ shaped bottle is decorated with a 100 boys motif. The stopper appears to be green jade. The base has a six-character Kangxi reign mark but this bottle is from the 19th century. There is a group of these soft-paste wares, smaller items mostly, ginger jars and vases, all with characteristic warm white glaze with overall craquelure and decorated with playing boys.

Approximately 8.5 cm high...

Quirky upper half a Han Dynasty female court attendant. This piece might have been luted to the lower half which would explain midpoint breakage. Original black and white pigments and minor traces of ochre around the collar and belt on the back. H: 16.5cm/6.5in.

A rare impressed clay votive plaque depicting the Dakini Simhavaktra, a fierce feminine Tibetan tantric deity. She has a lion’s face, standing upon a prostrate woman, in a classic Indian dance pose, in one hand she holds a Vajra the other she is holding a human skull. She is surrounded by an aura of well detailed red pigmented flames. The facial features are well detailed, which needs to be seen under magnification to be appreciated. Unusual white pottery impressed image of the Akshobhya Buddha, this an old piece and will guarantee it to be at least 100 years (probably much older). In his left hand he holds a vajra and his left is in the bhumiparsha mudra, behind him is detailed radiance and flanked at the base by two animals (probably elephants). This has traces of excavation as well as quick absorption of water and scent of petrichor- typical of old pottery. H: 5.4cm/2.1in and W: 4.3cm/1.8in.

Chinese antique dragon robe made of sheer blue and black silk for hot summer weather. Embroidered with a total of 16 five-clawed dragons: 7 on the front (including small dragons around the neck), 4 on the sides, and 4 on the back, with a hidden dragon on the inside when the front is opened. The dragons float on a sky of ruyi-shaped clouds and bats. The bottom of the robe is embroidered with colorful lishui waves crashing against a mountain. Long black sleeves end with "horse-shoe" cuffs...

An antique Tibetan temple bell and Vajra both made of bronze. Four prong bronze bell and matching four prong bronze vajra (diamond / thunderbolt). Beautiful design with ritual wear. There is an image of a bodhisattva’s head on the bell handle, a dorje design on outer rim with an embossed relief lotus design on the inner bell. Nice ringing note when sounded.

Age: 19th Century

Bell measures 6 3/4" high by 3 3/4" diameter. Vajra measures 5" long by 1 1/2" in diameter.

This is a very sweet, diminutive neolithic vase measuring just under 5-1/2" in height, intact and in excellent condition. Some very slight erosion to the lip of the rim. Guaranteed ancient.

Chinese Qing dynasty 18th century bronze censer with Xuande mark at the base of censer and at the base of the stand. 13,8 cm mouth diameter. 19,2 cm width across handles. 2786 g weight include the stand. Good conditions with original patina.

These creatures appear to be Buddhist lions, however, they have two symmetrical arches on either side of their heads that are more like horns than tufts of hair. They were certainly mold-made; the white porcelain is covered with a beautiful deep coral-red enamel typical of this period. The bases feature peonies in gold, a symbol of immortality, and the creatures feature spiral scrolls simulating the movements of the animal's fur...

Garden seat in "Blanc de Chine" porcelain. Dehua kiln. Kangxi period, early 18th century. The seat is drum-shaped, with white porcelain pellets imitating drum nails glued to the upper and lower rims with slip. Some of these nails came loose during firing. The seat was made in three parts, wheel-mounted and assembled like slip nails. Firing such technically complex porcelain with its cut-out decorations, its mass, and its wide, flat surface is difficult...
