The panel is made up of 2 pieces from a yardage, each about 27" wide, and that explains why there is a seam in the middle; the panel backed with light yellow silk. Magnificent robe with fine embroidery with lots of gold thread on a red silk ground.There are 5 buttons made of solid gold, weighing ca. 8 grams each. The robe is in a very good condition, only some lose threads and light discoloring. H. 128 cm, W. 145 cm. This piece dates from the 2nd half of the 19th century.

Up for sale is an antique Chinese Qing dynasty round rank badge, 5-claw dragon couched with gold wrapped threads, and other fine embroideries including flaming pearl, clouds, sea waves and buddhist auspicious objects, framed and glazed. The badge is taken from the surcoat of a mmperial family member who was allowed to wear a round badge during the Qing dynasty. The badge is overall in very good condition, but never inspected outside the frame...

An insignia for an imperial censor, showing the white mythical beast "xiezahi" or "xiezhi" with its dragon head and single horn. Standing on a rock above deep water, the ground with auspicious emblems. Made of silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details. The background was probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days. Sewn together and lined with blue silk...
