$125.00 Antique Chinese porcelain cricket cage of a gourd form. Its lid has reticulated air vents, enamel peonies and Chinese characters and gilt edge details. The cage front has enamel scene of a young boy and girl having tea in a field of flowers, with an inscription on the backside. Red four character mark on base.
Size: 4.75" L x 2.75" W x 1.75" H A pretty porcelain figure of Guanyin seated on a lotus 'throne' attractively painted with bright famille rose / fencai enamels. This item was probably made in south China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820). Condition - there has been extensive restoration and re-painting. The hands have been broken off and replaced. The head has been broken off and re-fixed and there has been another break to the middle. There has also been restoration to the lotus petals...
A very rare finely painted porcelain teapot decorated on each side with a scene depicting a scholar in a garden landscape. This item was made in China in the early 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735) ...

The figure stands on a large Lotus throne on top of high hexagonal plint in fine Sancai colours - a two-colour blue and torqoise glazed robe. Under his arm he holds a bottle. He wears a high hat. Finely painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures...

A Chinese B&W storage jar decorated with ladies playing a game in a garden, surrounded by children. Marked with an Artemisia leaf. Kangxi period (1662-1722). In the 19th century the silver mounts were added by an unknown Dutch silver smith. Hallmarked with the 'old sword'. This item is in a very good condition., with only a minor glaze chip to the mouth rim. H. 12 cm.
A superb quality very large pottery figure of a male attendant or official, dating to the earlier Ming Dynasty, 1400-1500 AD.
The figure is placed on a high hexagonal plint and wears a fine two-colour blue and turquoise glazed robe. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details. The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period. The figure holds a blanket under his arm... |
