Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoraton.

One of a group of very large Ming Dynasty pottery horse riders.
The figure is of a military attendant, wearing a hat and carrying a book or an instrument in his hands. He wears a blue robe with turqoise sleaves. Thick and very beautyful glaze. The unglazed areas are covered with white and black pigmented colors. Note that the painting is very detailed and the perfectly rendered facial features. A very large figure, measuring c. 40 x 30 cm... Rare Chinese Neolithic Pottery Footed Jar - Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC)
This very rare and unusually-shaped pottery jar was made some 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Caiyuan Culture (c. 2600 - 2200 BC) and has been excavated from the Ningxia Autonomous Region in the north of China. It is finely-potted with a wide body and two loop handles. The body stands on an integral foot that is pierced with three circular holes. It has a very smooth burnished surface...

The yellow sides are incised with various Chinese inscriptions in blue glaze while several key characters are glazed in red. The foot is tall and deeply recessed with a red seal of Daoguang (1821-1850).
The bowl is placed within a dramatic metal display of a fleur de lys design, raising it on narcissus style legs.
