Da Ming Yuan De Nien Zhe six characters mark and possibly of the period. Early Ming Dynasty 15th Century Xuande period. On each side are smaller matching cartouches, one holding a fan-form scene of figures in a landscape and a second with a bird among flowers...

This rare and interesting pottery tile comes from Shanxi province and was made in the 11th to 13th centuries during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234). It is made from quite a high-fired grey pottery that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments...

Ming jar with blue underglaze chrysanthemum no damage but there are firing flaws in the glaze- please see enlargements.
