In the centre is a grasshopper amongst rockwork, peonies and chrysanthemum blossoms. Surrounding this are nine panels in the form of lotus petals, each containing a different scene including ducks, birds and a variety of flowering trees and blossoms...

Large Chinese Kangxi Imari Porcelain Dish

This fine-quality porcelain dish with attractive floral pattern in underglaze blue, red enamel and gilding, was made during the Kangxi reign (1662 - 1722) of the Qing Dynasty. Around the rim edge is an iron-brown wash to help prevent fritting of the glaze during firing.

It is quite a large example with a diameter of 27.75 cm (11 inches)...
