Fine Large Chinese Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Hu Jar & Cover

This pottery jar with cover was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a fairly high-fired fine-grained grey pottery that has been elaborately "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, including blue, a colour rarely seen on Han pottery. The pattern comprises a geometric design around the neck and a swirling cloud pattern around the waist, between wide bands.

Large Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Dish (with Mark)

Beautiful “Cizhou” type black storage jug with lugs probably used for preserved vegetables, circa Ming Dynasty. A very attractive piece with lovely contrasting black and russet glazes, and paraffin patina throughout. Good example what would have been used in an ancient Chinese kitchen. Perfect condition, except for one very small glaze chip inside the mouthrim, noted in last enragement. H: 18.5cm/7.2in and D: 18cm/7.1in.

Tall Chinese Yuan Dynasty Cizhou Stoneware Jar / Bottle

This attractively-shaped stoneware jar, or bottle, was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) at one of the kilns in the north of China specialising in Cizhou wares. It is "heavily-potted" and has four loop handles around the shoulder. The body is coated in a white slip with the upper body decorated in underglaze iron-brown pigment on top of which is a transparent glaze. The lower body is coated in a brown glaze...

A rare GENUINE SWATOW MING DYNASTY POLYCHROME BOWL, 1570-1650, with overglaze iron red and green. Fair overall condition, with some wear due to condiderable age inside the bowl. As common in SWATOW WARE, this bowl has sand/kiln/grit deposits on the bottom and outside and because of the high temperatures in the firing kiln, it is not perfectly level, but warped as shown in the photograph. Size: 21 cm. diameter. Very low price as warped!
