$225.00 Antique Kalinga basket for carrying and storing rice or vegatables made by the mountain people from northern Luzon, the largest island in the Philippine archipelago. This coil basket is perfectly symmetrical and has nice warm patina. The coil weaving technique, materials (finely split rattan and nito vine), and design are consistent with baskets made by the Kalinga tribe. This rare and very beautiful collectible basket is in excellent condition and measures 12” high and about 10" diameter.

$225 A very unusual modern Japanese pottery vase. Exaggerated chatter decoration spiraling from the foot to the shoulder, the tacky clay lifted to a very coarse texture before firing. The neck to rim, also spiraling up the vase, finished smoothly. Apparently in the tradition of the stoneware tile work kilns of Bizen and Tokoname. Studio artist marks in impressed cartouches on the foot. Excellent condition. Height, 8 inches.

Sold A kozuka with gilt and silvered bronze decoration of a general's baton and banner on dark patinated bronze nanako ('fish roe' textured ground.) The utility knife handle with shakudo (a pickled gold and copper alloy) back and sides. Surfaces showing wear and slight distress from use but in fairly good and serviceable condition. Could benefit from a light cleaning and oiling. Length, little more than 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm)

STOLEN Finely carved ivory Chinese napkin ring with 3 landscape carvings and an animal in each scene. Each is deeply carved, giving depth to the foliage. The 4th cartouche is left blank for monogramming. In excellent condition, it measures 1 1/8" high by 2" diameter. Circa 1900.
