SOLD An antique blue and white Imari porcelain decorated with landscapes and ginko leaves. The landscape is portraying the view of the noted Song Dynasty literati scholar, Su Dongpo having a boat ride at Red Cliff. The motif is based on a hand scroll written by Su Dongpo reminiscing of the fun he had with his friends and the poems that were composed. The inscription is a summary of the landscape and the party he held on the boat. Age: Meiji Period Size: diameter 8" height 4"

Sold A finely done Japanese bamboo basket used as a flower container made by the second Shochikusai. The handle is done in a way as if the vine appears to grow out from the basket and fine strips of bamboo are woven throughout the vase. Fine woven bamboo baskets require the highest skills to create the rhythmic geometric patterns and form. Age: Showa Period Size: length 10" width 6.5" height 18.75"

Sold in our Liverpool shop - Feb 2014 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2014年2月 A Chinese porcelain vase profusely decorated with famille rose enamels. This item was made for export during the second half of the 19th century, possibly during the reign of the Tongzhi emperor (1862-1874).
There is a shallow ground under rim chip (please view enlargement 7) and there is wear to the gilding on the stylized gilded chilong dragons around the neck; no cracks and no restoration.

Sold in our Liverpool shop - June 2018 / 利物浦店内售出 - 2018年6月 A pair of 17th/18th Century style underglaze blue painted vases decorated with flowering branches of prunus blossom. The bases carry the four character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor but these items were made later, probably for export, during the late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1880-1920.
Condition: one vase is in excellent condition, with no damages and no repairs or restoration; the other has a 0.7cm under rim chip (please view our 4th picture) and it has a re-glued 10cm section ...
