A beautiful Shino Chawan by one of the best Japanese artists of the 20th century, Yano Keisen, made 70 years ago. His ceramics were part of the wedding of the Japanese Emperor Akihito in 1959 and since then part of the imperial household.

Antique Japanese cast iron lantern in the form of a cricket (or grasshopper). Crafted with long, elegant antennae. The lantern is made so it can sit over a light or candle, illuminating the cut out sections on it's wings.

Basket handmade of Yama-budo, wild grapevine which grows deep in the mountains. It is used by a mountain worker as a backpack. Generally in good condition but has a few minor breaks. The first half of the 20th century. W:43cm x 28cm x 15cm.

Antique Japanese rectangular basket with lid. Made of tightly woven alternating wide and narrow strips of split bamboo. Round, bent bamboo handles on either end. Light color wrapped bamboo on edges.

Be the only one on the block with a Murakoshi Takuma wash basin! Here is a sink made from his infamous rugged Shigaraki clay covered in Ash, iron and feldspar. This will undoubtedly become a conversation piece! It comes complete with stainless steel drain pipe fittings. The sink is 35 cm (14 inches) diameter, 12 cm 5 inches) deep and is in perfect condition.

Boro small rug or a part of it which is made of almost countless fragments of vegetable indigo dye cotton. In cold districts, such as Tohoku and along the Japan Sea area, cultivation of cotton was difficult and cotton cloth was precious in old days, so that people bought fragments of cotton and made them to noragi, futonji, rugs and so on.
