Antique Japanese bronze usubata, container for ikebana flower arrangements. The upper vase section has a wide, round rim decorated with a diamond-lozenge shaped pattern similar to the the hishi mon of the Takeda family. The body of the container is ringed with raised bands and tapers to a narrow stem which sits into a stand held up by three arching feet with waves.
