These small sculptures must illustrate a moment in Vietnamese history, for while horsemen are at war on one of them, the figures are living peacefully on the other. On the back, Chinese characters are crudely incised and appear to be information rather than artist signatures.
Probably Vietnamese work, 19th century or earlier, but possibly executed in southern China. 82mm x 64mm, 2mm thick.
