Quirky upper half a Han Dynasty female court attendant. This piece might have been luted to the lower half which would explain midpoint breakage. Original black and white pigments and minor traces of ochre around the collar and belt on the back. H: 16.5cm/6.5in.

Bold Tsubaki designs cover this six sided Mizusashi Water Container by Ito Motohiko exhibited at the 34th Shinsaku Togeiten Exhibition of New Works (2006) enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Nunome Tsubaki Mon Mizusashi. Fine Tall Chinese Tang Dynasty White Pottery Horse with Oxford TL Test

This fine and particularly elegant model of a saddled horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a creamy-white pottery (as oppose to the brick-red pottery that the majority of Tang dynasty horses are made from). The surface has been "cold-painted" with a white pigment with decorative details to the saddle added in red pigment.
