Large vintage “bush knife” from Lanna Thailand, this is an all purpose tool with a thick spine and very sharp edge- quite heavy as well. The blade is fixed with a steel collar and woven rattan and comes with a bamboo basket type sheath. Total L: 54cm/22.2in (blade L: 29cm/11.5in and handle L: 25cm/10.5in). This is an artisanal village made piece and not mass produced.

The expertly thrown body was trimmed with a potter's knife in its lower part around the foot ring. In the style of Seto kuro bowls this Chawan was covered with a light brown glaze. Please note that the grey spotted rabbit has red pupils. This is a high quality men's haori and is in excellent condition. The jacket measures 54 inches across the shoulders by 44” long. Dates circa 1900-1930.

Sold A Chinese porcelain bowl with fluted wall/ blue and white motifs decorations, an unreadable mark inside the foot rim. Ming Dynasty Jiajing to Longqing period, circa mid-16th century. Condition: minor kiln faults and a few tiny glaze flakes on the rim, photo #6 shows two example of them. The bowl is not in a perfect round shape. Please refer to photos for condition details.
