The inro is made in five sections (four compartments) with very fine polychrome lacquer togidashi in a scene of a fierce samurai on horseback. On one side, he holds a war fan. On the other side, the samurai looks back over his shoulder as his horse splashes through water. The gold maki-e technique makes the inro sparkle. The interior compartments are treated with a fine, dense nashiji.
