Small Chinese Qianlong / 18th Century Blue & White Porcelain Dish

This small porcelain dish, was made in the 18th century during the Qianlong reign (1735 - 1796) of the Qing Dynasty. It is attractively decorated in underglaze blue of good colour. The pattern features in its centre a pagoda, two phoenixes in flight and water. This pattern is known by some as the "Cuckoo in the House" pattern.

A small rectangular dish in the form of overlapping trays. Gentle waves and shoreline decorated in underglaze blue (sometsuke) with polychrome enamels used to depict the Momiji of an undulating Maple, shrubbery, and flowers along the outcropping shore. Central flower and scrolling vine pattern to the underside with an unusual diaper pattern to the footrim.

This large and attractive porcelain dish was made during the 14th century at the Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province. It is "heavily-potted" with repeated incised vertical lines around the cavetto. It is coated in thick green glaze of very good colour. The unglazed recessed base has fired to a reddish-brown colour.

This jar, a water pot, was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). The outer surface is coated in a finely-crackled pale greenish Qingbai type of glaze. In places are dark "iron spots" within the glaze. The foot remains unglazed revealing the pale grey porcelaneous body.
