A very rare Nana-sun plate with swirling hake-me design from the kilns of Utsutsukawa dating from the early to mid Edo period wrapped in a ragged bit of sarasa dyed cotton cloth and enclosed in an age darkened wooden box titled Utsutsukawa-Yaki Kashibachi - Ikko (Sweets dish-1) It is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) diameter. An intricately painted 19th Century or earlier Tibetan thangka featuring a wrathful black diety. It is loaded with imagery that depicts several intense scenes from floating skeletons to animals and humans being trampled. This antique thangka was used and has been consecrated or blessed. In good condition, it measures 24 inches high x 21".

A thought provoking Japanese satin silk haori (Jacket) with a hand painted scene of a young man paying homage to a Zen master. The older man is sitting on a mat in a relaxed lotus position. In the background is a 5-6 paneled screen featuring an outdoor water scene. The colors are excellent. With family crests on the the front side, this hoari is in near perfect condition, save for a slight water mark on the inside front sleeve (see Last photo, sleeve on right.)
