sold Important Kyo-yaki Gold Glaze Chawan with Fine Crazing and Oxblood Underglaze This striking tea bowl, radiant in its golden glaze and resonant with poetic depth, offers a fascinating convergence of refinement and wabi-sabi imperfection—hallmarks of Kyoto ceramic tradition at its most expressive. With its luminous, almost celestial gold surface, it calls to mind the transient beauty of autumn light filtered through clouds, or the muted gleam of gilt screens in an aging temple. A pair of small Kakiemon bowls of scalloped form and Nigoshide glaze. Overglaze polychrome enamels depicting chrysanthemums in vivid and classic Kakiemon colors. Some remnants of charcoal dust from firing seen in the body suggest a late 17th C date.
17th Century Edo Period (Enpo 1670-1690) 13 x 4cm
