As being passionate connaisseurs of Japanese Tea Bowls we always do our best to impress our visitors with tea bowls, which are for sure singular artworks.

Here we show and exhibit a treasure of Japanese tea ceremony culture. A very old Edo Period E-Karatsu chawan with tasteful gold repair 'gintsugi' (kintsugi) and mysterious signs - this tea bowl emanates the essence of true wabi sabi.

This is a very fine old Chinese shallow bowl made in the popular Butterfly pattern. It is in very good condition with minor wear and a tiny flea bite to the glaze on the rim. It measures 9 1/2 inches across and 1 1/2 inches deep.

These old Chinese tinted eyeglasses date from the Qing Dynasty. There is a tiny bat on the nose bridge, and ornately detailed hinged temple and ear pieces.

A beautiful sapphire blue Qianlong period (1736-1795) small wasted and broad shouldered jar. The cobalt blue mimics the old heap and pile effect of the earlier Ming dynasty. The glaze has a silkly smooth texture typical of early 18th C. porcelains. The white patch at the neck area is a clay slip that was partially glazed and was not scored because of a slight depression in the affected area. Here we like to offer you a 100 year old bronze Guan Yin Statue (kwan yin) from China with traces of gildet laquer. It is sold together with its wooden stand.

She is riding a foo lion / fu dog and is holding a droplet of water in her left hand.

The Guan Yin is in good condition. It has no repairs and shows only some wears of age, which emphasizes the antique charakter.

A refined image of the deity Amitayus, known as the Buddha of infinite light in many pureland texts including the Sukhavativyuha Sutra. A Chinese Dehua White Porcelain Lotus Flower Shakyamuni Buddha Statue, 12 inches tall, dating from 1850. Since 65 years it is in our private collection of Religious Art.

Set of Six Japanese Meiji Dynasty Imperial Portraits. Each painting is 59h x 24w inches, 150h x 61w cm.

A small porcelain iron red overglaze water coup decorated with dragons set among scrolling clouds. The iron red style was developed in the Ming dynasty and in the Qing various styles were expanded. Additionally, with the continuity of the literati tradition, various objects were being produced and one was the water coup which is essential in producing ink for calligraphy. The water coup contains an inscription reading Da qing xiangfeng nian xin. (1851-1861). Size: height 2.25" diameter 2.8"

A charred Tsubo blasted with ash by Takahashi Rakusai enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It reflects the style of early Shigaraki, with an engraved crosshatch belt circling the flaring mouth. The piece is 8 inches (21 cm) tall, roughly the same diameter and in excellent condition but for one tiny nick in the base.

A intricately done Chinese fencai with motif of dragons scrolling vines, and peonies. Fine brushes made from different materials with caps to cover the tip were often part of a scholar literati's desk and were called the four treasures of the scholar's studio. The end of the brush contains a seal script mark, reading Da qing Jiaqing nian xing. Age: 19th-20th century Size: length 19" diameter 0.3"

Enjoy this small local wooden folk Buddhist statue called 'Minshu-Butsu' (or 'Minkan-Butsu'), dated back to the indicated age but could also be earlier.
