Sold The netsuke features a kappa head with a long bend beak. It is made from a stag horn, has a deep green patina, double inlayed eyes and inlayed himatoshi.
A kappa (河童, "river-child") is a type of yōkai, or supernatural creature, that inhabits rivers, lakes, and swamps. They are typically depicted as amphibious, human-like beings with a turtle-like shell on their back, webbed hands and feet, and a depression on their head that holds water.
Perfect condition.

Refined Kutani porcelain bowl featuring a beautifully hand-painted butterfly motif in iron-red, gold, and soft polychrome enamels. The scalloped form is elevated on a petal-shaped foot, enhancing its elegant silhouette. The interior and exterior are adorned with richly detailed butterflies among stylized foliage, executed in classic Meiji-period aesthetics. Period: Meiji period, 19th century Deep clefts filled with mottled glaze are scored into the sides of this stellar sake cup by Nakagawa Jionenbo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Chohan (Hori Madara) Karatsu Guinomi. It is 6.8 cm (2-1/2 inches) diameter, 5.5 cm (just over 2 inches) tall and in perfect condition.
