Unusual, late Ayutthaya or Early Rattanakosin Period Thailand Buddha head. The bronze has been cast with quite light bronze and the ears are made from copper strips and lacquered over. The face is quite atypical with Chinese characterisics, possibly a regional style. Please examine enlargements for condition. H: 22cm/8.7in (with stand 31cm).

Beautiful women’s apron style skirt from the Bahnar (Ba Na) ethnic group, Central Highlands of Vietnam. Woven from fine handspun cotton using all indigo and natural dyes. The weaving is very intricate and refined, note the use of narrow warp ikat bands throughout this piece. This piece is has small tear at the corner (see last enlargement) and a couple of frays but otherwise excellent condition and dates to 1960 to 1970...

This piece was unearthed in Cambodia by the famous researcher Noriki Shimazu and exported to Japan, and there has been used as a tea container in Tea ceremony. I acquired in Vientiane, Laos in 2010, and this is highest quality of this type of weave available. Included is simple hand carved “elephant” textile hanger. An exceptional home décor accent piece. An antique large bronze Laotian rain drum. Beautiful detailed relief work. Twelve pointed star in the top center of the drum. Four pairs of playful frogs decorate the rim. Two pairs of side handles to each opposing side. Age patina acquired over its very long age of use and display.

A fine woman's ceremonial sarong from Lampung Sumatra, woven in two parts, the striped cotton fabric decorated with couched gold-wrapped thread work and mica sequins.
