Khmer 12th Century Glazed Stoneware Jarlet

This unusually-shaped small stoneware jar was made during the 12th Century. It has a globular body that flares down into a relatively wide foot with a flat base. The body is decorated with four groups of three vertically incised parallel lines. Around the mouth is a serrated edge.

Khmer 12th - 13th Century Glazed Stoneware Bottle

This attractively-shaped bottle was made during the 12th -13th Century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and is coated in a deep brown glaze. At both ends of the long neck are bands of lightly incised rings, with deep vertically incised grooves decorating the lower body. The glaze falls short of the base, revealing the pale grey stoneware body.

Khmer 11th - 12th Century Stoneware Jar

The squat globular form of this jar is one of the most well-known of early Cambodian ceramics. This jar was made during the 11th - 12th Century. The surface is decorated with bands of incised geometric patterns and coated in a dark yellowish-brown glaze, the colour of which varies according to its thickness. The lower body and flat base remain unglazed revealing the pale yellowish-brown stoneware body.
