Fine Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Porcelain Dish - Hoi An Hoard (with book)

This attractive and sizeable dish was made during the 15th century. It is well decorated with an attractive floral design inside the bowl and lotus leaf patterns on the outside wall. The glaze is finely crackled. The inside of the foot rim is coated in a brown wash, typical of many Vietnamese pieces of this period.

A good size with a diameter of 24 cm (9.5 inches)...

Large Thai 14th - 15th Century Celadon Glazed Bowl

This large and impressive stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is heavily-potted and has a flared and upturned rim. The central inner surface is attractively decorated with an incised "sun" pattern surrounded by parallel bands. Surrounding this are five incised roundels each containing lotus blossoms. The outer wall is carved with vertical grooves and horizontal bands below the rim...

Beautiful women’s apron style skirt from the Bahnar (Ba Na) ethnic group, Central Highlands of Vietnam. Woven from fine handspun cotton using all indigo and natural dyes. The weaving is very intricate and refined, note the use of narrow warp ikat bands throughout this piece. This piece is has small tear at the corner (see last enlargement) and a couple of frays but otherwise excellent condition and dates to 1960 to 1970...

A pair of circa 20th century, good Indonesian keris knives. Both blades are hand forged iron with very sharp edges and tropical wood handles and hilt cups. The sheaths are copper alloy with intricate patterns. The blade with the gold dragon motif is referred to as the Nogo style and is quite thin, and the second one has a beautiful “pamor”- the striations are called “blarak sineret” style- like someone dragged a palm leaf across the surface...
