Nice old Lahu bamboo woven basket (there is some rattan used in the bindings), from the Golden Triangle region in Northern Thailand. This is a genuine ethnic/tribal piece and not made for the tourist trade. There is a carrying strap that comes with this but it is not woven into the basket itself. The basket is in excellent condition while the strap has some brittleness where it folds. H: 22cm/8.5in and D: 23cm/9in.

Good semi antique storage basket from the Bidayuh people of Sarawak, circa 1950s (+ or -). The lid is made from the skin of a sambar deer while the basket plaiting is rattan- the inside is lined with bark. I purchased this in Kuching, Sarawak in 1988, and it was old at the time. There is a hole in the lid as well as some loss to the bark lining- please examine enlargements. H: 5ocm/19in and D: 35.5cm/14in.

Vietnamese work from the 19th century or before? The vase is very broken as shown in the photos. The broken neck has been replaced by a silver neck on which a stopper has been placed. Height: 24cm.

Condition: both lids with few tiny casting holes, the box interior with some rust, both items with traces of usage.
