£600.00 A Korean, Maebyeong, plum blossom vase; C14th.
Its broad, round shoulders and tapering waist are covered overall with a celadon glaze.
This ash-derived glaze has run and made rivulets down the side of the vase, which along with the asymetrical shape, contributes to a very wab-sabi feel to this Maebyeong. It would look spectacular with a branch of plum blossom.
Height, 30.5 cm
Good condition.
Provenance; from a Japanese collection.
