This piece is very beautiful plain celadon bowl maintaining beauty just like as made in early period. though most celadon pieces made in mid Goryeo has patterns. This bowl probably was used as water container for painting by nobles. The lychee, because of its red color, is an ancient symbol of love in Korea. It is a rare and valued motif on Korean celadons. The chrysanthemum fertility symbol that also adorns this bowl is more common. But the rendering here is unique, with chrysanthemums in the center of the bowl surrounded by lotus blossoms, a symbol of rebirth because the lotus rises above the muck of the pond to show its face to the Sun. Lovely floral scrolls encircle both the inner and outer circumference...

The stoneware bowl features inlaid ducks and flowers, covered with a greyish green celadon glaze.
Similar examples are in the Gwangju National Museum and the V&A Museum.

A charming Korean Goryeo ware celadon-glazed stoneware bottle vase, adorned with circular lines in white. Dating back to the Late Goryeo Dynasty (13th - 14th century), Korea, this piece was previously part of a Japanese private collection.

The vase, with its typical form, features a pear-shaped body, a slender neck, and an everted mouth that has been skillfully repaired with lacquer...

Korean Koryo Dynasty Celadon-Glazed Covered Box, Circa 13th Century

It is 1.3 inches (3.4 cm) tall by 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide. The wood carved box is is 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall by 4.4 inches (11.2 cm) long and 4.4 inches (11.2 cm) wide. It is 0.5 Lb.

It has skip glazes, dark spots, repairs to the inner rim, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).
