This is one of the best Shounai-Noren used in Shonai, Yamagata area for Edo period. As for the hemp of this item, a delicate thread spun by hand is used. The pattern is full of Chadougu which was popular in Shikoku. Chadougu is an instrument used at tea ceremony. The Chadougu design reached shounai by a goods-carrying merchant ship. This is the most beautiful Tanba Jar I have seen. It has wonderful green glazed drip and very shining body. The jar stand 11.1/2 in height I am sure from Momoyama Era 16th century. This Jar is very strong but does not fight any flower it is beautiful. If you have any question Please let me know. Hanging scroll. The eight-armed deity, bearing arms and jewels, and a coiled snake (the deity Ugajin) on her head, sits on a lotus-leaf-seat, flanked by Daikoku. Before her are the 15 disciples, or jugo doji. Ink, mineral colors, gold and gofun on silk. Japan, Edo period, 18th century.

This is a very fine and attractive Mt Fuji wireless cloisonne box. It actually looks very similar to a Mt Fuji Sosuke tray we once had. It is not signed butthe artist is most likely Ando or Gonda. The Box measures 5 1/4 by 4 inches and s 2 3/8 inches tall. The box is beautiful and perfect except for some odd tool marks on the inner rim of the lid.

Waves of color belt this unusual form by Usui Kazunari enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 20 inches (50 cm) tall, roughly 8 inches (20 cm) diameter and in fine condition.
Usui Kazunari was born in Seto city, Aichi in 1954, and graduated the Nagoya University of Art, sculpture division in 1977.
