Rare Japanese Sado Island Funa Tansu, also known as a captains ship safe. Made of solid quarter sawn Keyaki (Zelkova wood) burl construction with heavy hand-forged iron plates and mounts. The front of the piece with a drawer above a pull-out panel, opened by Kakute handles. The bottom panels pulls away to reveal four interior drawers surrounding a second pull-out panel, all with Hirute handles. The middle panel opens to a safe keeping box with heavy iron lock and hardware...

Antique Persian Baluch rug, 100% hand woven wool in rust brown, light red, and indigo hues, with repeating geometric motifs throughout. These rugs are hand-knotted by the nomads of Baluch. Baluch or Baluchistan is the area between the borders of Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan-- this is why Baluch rugs are said to be a mixture of three different regions.

A small square gold lacquer Japanese incense container with rounded corners. The lid is decorated with a relief of waves and rocks, inlaid in mother-of-pearl and lead. Interior and base with nashiji, the rims covered with lead. Later tomobako. Dimension: c. 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 2.5 cm. Condition: few traces of usage, a tiny chip (see photo No. 2 at 2 o'clock).

Antique Caucasian Azeri runner carpet, hand-woven 100% wool in a Karaja design of two large central diamond medallions flanked by Heriz style medallions, surrounded by angular and geometric floral motifs, in hues of rust, indigo, bright green and yellow.

A lovely hand formed bowl in the shape of an inverted mushroom with brush strokes (Kushi-me) defining the gills and the bulbous stipe laying like a handle to one side. A speckled yellow glaze (typical of Maiko) covers the sandy clay, with a drape of green and white seeping like milk from one side. It is roughly 21 cm (8 inches) diameter and in excellent condition, stamped on the base Mahiko (In traditional writing the character for Hi is interchangeable with the character for I as is Fu and U)...

Japanese set of 10 blue and white sobachoko or soba cups. With cobalt blue underglaze floral motifs and ocean landscapes, double ring below the inner rim, and a floral medallion in the center of the well with single ring. The foot is slightly recessed and left unglazed except for the center.
