Gilt-Wood Seishi Bosatsu seated atop a lotus-form dais and accompanying plinth backed by an elaborately detailed pierced-work wooden mandorla, the hands in the gassho adoration mudra. Yosegi-zukuri joined-block wooden construction, the eyes of inset crystal. Mid- to late-Edo Period ca. 1775. Old repairs to the upper portion of the mandorla as well as partial loss to the gilt-copper decorative head-piece; otherwise, excellent condition with minimal patination overall.
