SOLD Antique pair of Japanese fusuma doors. Hand painted interior doors with solid hinoki Japanese cypress wood paneling. Painted of white, green, red, and brown natural pigments. Frames are lacquered red. Original metal pulls. Depicting blossoming chrysanthemums along with a sleeping white cat.
Age: Late Edo period Circa early 1800's Dimensions: 38 1/2" wide x 67 1/2" high

Jingasa is a kind of cone-shaped helmet worn by ashigaru (足軽) or zohyo (雑兵)who are low-ranking soldiers, and they are mostly farmers too. It has a mark in front to identify enemies and allies. It has cotton stuffed packings inside. The last image is from "Tale of Zohyo"(雑兵物語)from the collection of Tokyo National Museum.

Price on Request Japanese antique lacquer inro with five reserve scenes of landscapes and implements most likely representing the Seven Lucky Gods. The inro has rounded edges and is almost oval in form. It has five sections (four compartments) and is lacquered entirely in very fine gold nashiji. There are 3 scenes on one side and 2 on the other in raised maki-e lacquer. The implements are displayed as if accidentally left behind...
A Frankenstein chawan bowl made up of variously textured shards of porcelain put together with gold in the Kintsugi style by rising star Hori Takaharu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 14 x 15.5 x 7.5 cm (5-1/2 x 6 x 3 inches).
Hori Takaharu was born in Tokyo in 1996. He Graduated from Aichi Prefecture Seto Ceramics High School in 2016 and entered the Udatsuyama Artist Research center, where he lived and worked for five years... A beautifully rendered tea bowl with thick sides covered in crimson tinged glaze blotted with patches of snow white by veteran Mino pottery Kobayuashi Takeharu (born 1943) enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Shino Chawan. It is 13 cm (just over 5 inches) diameter, 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) tall and in perfect condition.
