SOLD Antique Japanese bronze mizusashi with lid, decorated with waves. The mizusashi is a vessel used during the Japanese tea ceremony to hold water. The body of the container has a dragon's head on each side with a bronze ring. The lid is decorated with a band of waves, the handle is rounded. Meiji period, 1868-1912. True original bronze Vessal

SOLD Charming cast iron antique Japanese Tetsubin (tea kettle) Classically shaped, with charming quality. Rope design is looped around short neck of tetsubin and tied into a bow on one side. Handle has loop rope design along top. Gorgeously aged, Tetsubin has ridged mouth with a lotus flower motif nob on the top of lid.

$925 Wonderful large cast Iron Kama Tetsubin. Lid is iron with lovely round flower motif on top. Tokugawa Crest of Paulownia Flowers decorate both sides of kettle. Two small loop handles are shaped lion heads. Kettle comes with large wood box, in great condition, marked with Japanese inscription.

$325 Squaty and stout Antique Japanese iron Tetsubin with iron lid. Hailstone covering top half of kettle. Bottom half has beautiful wear with soft ridging. Handle of kettle was made to sit strait up, making this a solid piece. Top on lid is a budding plant, possibly lotus flower.

SOLD Japanese Antique Iron Tetsubin with Bronze lid. Tetsubin has a Mount Fuji Shape. Kettle displays a fainted casting of a Japanese Kiri bird and phoenix on one side. A crane and turtle are also displayed along with a 5 character mark and cartouche medallion. Handle is thin, casted with bamboo nodes. Bottom of Tetsubin is in good condition.

Already Sold Up for sale is this wonderfully textured 19th century Japanese cast iron tea kettle made by noted Kyoto-school tetsubin craftsman Kibundo ( 1812-1892 ). It is cast in high relief with the image of a landscape and plants. This fine kettle bears the body-mark “Kibundo zo” and a remnant of the square seal mark of Kibundo on the bottom. The quality of the relief casting is superb... Lovely vintage cast iron Tetsubin. Majority of pot is hailstone covered, leaving spout, handle, and top of pot smooth. Lid contains a small lion character, giving pot a charming quality. Models a small dainty spout.

$975 Beautiful Antique Japanese tea kettle. Made in iron, there are vertical striations down the sides of kettle overlayed with bunches of grapes and vines, as well as flying birds. The guard shape of the kettle and handle symbolizes the seasonal autumn months and harvest. The kettle lid models a bronze red two toned beautifully lacquered glazing. Flower like details in bronze circle the top of lid. Inscription inside lid reads Ryubundo, the noted studio produced iron tea kettles.

SOLD Japanese iron tea kettle/brazier in a gourd shape. The bottom brazier has two openings, one in front and one in back, and has two large, round handles on its sides, held in the mouths of beasts or dragons. The upper portion is for boiling tea and has two slim handles on either of its sides. The hardwood lid has a very cute leaf and flower bud decoration. Comes with two iron coal pokers.
